Final Exam - AP Graduate in Design, Technology and Business
My final exam at the design technologist was pretty much free to its own interpretation. However, I had never worked with book design before, so I thought it was a fun challenge. Besides that, I wanted the book to be about a taboo subject, but one that many people on a daily basis actually feel. And that is loneliness. Here's a tiny taste of some of the pages you can see in the book, and then finally the final book design (as a prototype).
Below you can see the divisions and a small text piece describing what you might encounter in each chapter:
Here are some of my small illustrations found in the book. They are based on the line art style.
The line art style doesn't have to be realistic. The illustrations can be imperfect and abstract. Since the book deals with emotions, which is a broad concept and is individual to each person, the abstract and imperfect fits into the universe that the book is trying to encompass. To achieve the imperfect, freehand style of drawing, the illustrations are drawn freehand.
